A unique experience in the East Vancouver area. Expect locals (from Commercial Drive, among others). A great place to meet folk and learn about new foods and culture. The entire meal is about 45 minutes long. (Helping to clean up afterwards is greatly appreciated!)
A short walk towards Boundary Road from the Rupert Skytrain Station. Look for the golden roof.
Alternate route: Drive/walk down 1st Avenue until you see Thunderbird Park (see photo).
Beans, lentils, chickpeas, rice, naan are staples (but every day can be a new dish too). Expect mild spiciness. There is usually no meat served.
Good to know:
Be on time please! Wear the head coverings provided inside (or wear your own LABEL-FREE hat, head scarf, etc.). This a sign of respect and hygiene.
YES tupperware welcomed. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED (served hot so make sure containers are heat-proof).
