A pillar in the East Vancouver community since 1976, The Kettle Society started as ‘Attic Treasures’ on Commercial Drive serving folks with barriers (mental health, etc). It is best to register or have a referral from a counsellor or social worker, etc. Walk-ins are still welcome, but with reduced services being offered. Many services can be found at The Kettle Society: A nurse practitioner three days a week, advocacy services, and homeless outreach. Drop-in hours are 8:30 am – 7:00 pm Monday – Friday and 10:00 am – 5:00 pm Saturdays and Sundays. Food is served well-rounded (most of the food groups) and vegetarian options can be available, upon request.
